75th anniversary of Radio Estonia - 75º aniversario de Radio Estonia
December 18, 1926, when the first privately-owned radio station came on the air in Tallinn, is regarded as the beginning of regular radio broadcasting in Estonia. The radio developed at a fast pace, was nationalized in 1934 and thanks to a 196.6-meter transmission mast - at the time the most advanced in Europe - built in the central Estonian town of Türi in 1937, ensured good quality reception throughout Central Europe on medium waves.
