The first broadcasting service in Korea was initiated on February 16, 1927, under the call sign JODK. From that time broadcasting in Korea has made steady progress, and by 1937 a national radio netwark linking Pyongyang, Pusan, Taegu, Kwangju, Yiri and Chongjin had been developed. Although eight local stations as well as the key station in Seoul were totally destroyed during the Korean War, the war did not arrest the advance of the media.       More information >>>
