25th Anniversary of Radio All India - 25º Aniversario de All India Radio
In commemoration of the silver jubilee of All India Radio, a 15 np stamp was issued on June 8, 1961.
Two private companies in Bombay and Calcutta began radio broadcasting in India, in 1927.
The government took them over in 1930 and named it the Indian Broadcasting Service.
It was renamed “All India Radio” on June 8, 1936.
The stamp depicts transmitter aerials and the logo of the AIR.
